Pr Shanta Dhar will present recent researches about Delivering drugs via nanoparticles to target mitochondria: Positive results shown for cancer, Alzheimer’s and obesity drugs during Targeting Mitochondria 2012
Researchers at the University of Georgia have refined the nanoparticle drug delivery process further by using nanoparticles to deliver drugs to a specific organelle within cells.
By targeting mitochondria, “the powerhouse of cells,” the researchers increased the effectiveness of mitochondria-acting therapeutics used to treat cancer, Alzheimer’s disease and obesity in studies conducted with cultured cells.
Scientific Committee of Targeting Mitochondria awarded Dr Shanta Dhar for her work
During Targeting Mitochondria 2012, the Scientific Committee awarded Dr Shanta Dhar for her Scientific Contribution.
