The Role of Mitochondrial-Derived Vesicles in Peroxisome biogenesis

The Role of Mitochondrial-Derived Vesicles in Peroxisome biogenesis

Ayumu Sugiura, Juntendo University, Japan

Summary

Peroxisomes and mitochondria are central organelles of cellular metabolism and share several functions and functional regulators. They transport metabolites and signals by direct contacts and vesicular trafficking, but the significance and molecular mechanisms remain to be elucidated.  In this talk, I will discuss mitochondrial-derived vesicles, which may provide a clue to understanding the fundamental relationships between mitochondria and peroxisomes.
